Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model since November 11, 1996. Following her debut in a feature film by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to appear as a an archaeologist who is sympathetic to Nazis, Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donnevan's role is in A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) are other roles. Doody was first introduced to modeling when she was invited by a professional photographer. The result was an enviable professional career as a model for commercials. Doody was adamantly against glamour and sexually explicit work. This was a policy allowed her to pursue an acting career. When she came to the director's attention for the role in a James Bond film, Doody was offered a small role on the film A View to a Kill (1985). Doody is listed as a part of John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3. She is listed as one of the 12 top actors of 1986. 38. Doody, at 18-years-old as she played the character of Doody in Bond she was still the most youthful Bond gal until today. A different early film played a tiny part in the film as IRA member Siobhan Donovan on A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 TV film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. The episode of the Storyteller Sapsorrow was her first lead role. It took place in 1988 with John Hurt, Dawn France as well as Jennifer Saunders. The actress played Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. Then she took her biggest role yet in the film Taffin as Austrian archaeologist and Nazisympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody is a co-star with three actors that have played James Bond. In the year 1991, Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. When she moved to Hollywood, Doody became famous. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokeswoman and was later cast alongside Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend in Major League II. Doody's return to the big screen came in 2003, when Michael Caine played Doody in a short role. Doody's roles included an appearance in a TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 as well as a booklet on the Holocaust as well as an animated short called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody was a part-time actress in Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). Later, she appeared as a guest in the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of the horror film The Asphyx but the project ended up being cancelled. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way.
